  1. Imagine drinking coffee from heaven. This is it. This device has total infusion with the coffee and water. It creates a bitterless cup of joe. And for all you science fanatics, this is the coolest way to use Science and make coffee. Hands down, a very great cup of joe, the only issue; unless you have the Bunsen burner or a faster burner, the spirit burner (alcohol burner) that comes with the device, makes it very hard to make a fast cup. If you want this as a primary coffee maker, it lacks speed. It also burns your glass (even at the lowest setting) and turns the bowl black. Other then that, very good product, and totally worth the price. Just buy another burner.
  2. Wow! Yes it is unbelievably pretentious. It's also unbelievably fun, and makes a damn fine cup of coffee. I've never had a cup that is both full flavored and smooth as my first cup from the Hario siphon. This five cup version brews enough for 2 smallish mugs. If you are hooked on grande and venti sizes, consider it a single serve brewer. A nice way to break bad, without incurring the legal risk of cooking some crystal blue persuation.
